Vision Bangladesh conducted a Needs Assessment in the four municipalities of Khulna, Barishal, Satkhira, and Sirajganj to understand the situation of climate-induced migrants living in urban slums. The assessment revealed that displaced settlers face poor housing, inadequate WASH facilities, insecure livelihoods, and limited access to health, education, and municipal services. Women and children are disproportionately affected by these vulnerabilities. At the same time, the study identified opportunities to improve their resilience through climate-resilient infrastructure, skills training, livelihood support, and stronger community engagement. Addressing these needs can transform migrant settlements into active contributors to inclusive urban development.
